About Me
Wen Chao received Bachelor and Master Degrees in Chemistry from National Taiwan University. Under the direction of Dr. Jim Jr-Min Lin (IAMS, Academia Sinica, Taiwan) he studies the kinetics of Criegee intermediates as well as the potential atmospheric implication, especially for the water catalysis reactions in Earth's atmosphere.
Now, he is a G5 PhD student at Caltech. he joined Dr. Okumura’s group and studied the spectroscopy of resonance stabilized radicals, the fundamental blocks for pre-biomolecule in Titan’s atmosphere. Owing to the tight collaboration between Dr. Okumura and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, he is working on Chlorine and Sulfur Chemistry in Venus’ atmosphere with Dr. Winiberg (NASA, JPL).
Except for gas phase reactions in the atmospheres of Earth, Titan and Venus, he is also interested in the kinetics occurs at interfaces and the possible catalysis chemistry.
Expected Graduation: 2024 Spring (Actively Seeking a Postdoc Position)
